ComEd New Business Residential Subdivision Design
Overview:
ComEd faced capacity constraints and required external support to complete the detailed engineering and permitting needed for subdivision design. TWG assembled a dedicated team and held multiple alignment meetings with ComEd to understand project requirements, specialized standards, and permitting processes. Because ComEd’s design expectations differ from typical new business projects, TWG invested significant upfront time to ensure clarity and accuracy. The scope later expanded to include permitting support for designs produced by ComEd’s Single Phase team.
What TWG Delivered:
– Subdivision Design: Provided engineering capacity for complex residential layouts.
– Technical Coordination: Worked closely with ComEd’s project manager to align on requirements.
– Customized Compliance: Integrated ComEd’s unique design standards and permitting needs.
– Dedicated Team: Built an internal engineering team prepared for long-term workload demands.
– Permitting Support: Assisted with permitting tasks to streamline ComEd’s broader operations.
Results:
While the project is ongoing, TWG’s responsiveness, preparedness, and technical depth have strengthened our relationship with ComEd. The utility has expressed interest in a long-term partnership, positioning TWG for continued work within ComEd’s New Business portfolio.
