Marshall Avenue Reconstruction - City of Mattoon
Overview:
The project included full-depth roadway reconstruction along Marshall Avenue from 6th Street to 17th Street. Improvements included PCC pavement replacement, storm sewer installation, curb and gutter, ADA-compliant ramps, and driveway reconstruction, completed in three phases in accordance with Illinois municipal and IDOT standards.
What We Delivered:
– Phase I & Phase II Engineering: Prepared Phase I studies, Project Development Report, and final design for a multi-phase roadway reconstruction project.
– Roadway & Drainage Design: Designed PCC pavement reconstruction, granular subbase, storm sewer, inlets, and curb and gutter improvements.
– ADA & Access Improvements: Designed ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, driveway reconstruction, and pedestrian upgrades.
– Surveying & Construction Documents: Performed topographic surveying and prepared plans, specifications, special provisions, proposals, and engineer’s estimates.
– Multi-Phase Project Coordination: Provided engineering support across three construction phases to maintain consistency in design and construction standards.
Results:
TWG delivered engineering services for this multi-phase roadway reconstruction totaling approximately $2.9 million, helping the City of Mattoon modernize infrastructure along Marshall Avenue while improving safety, drainage, and accessibility. Construction was completed in three phases between 2016 and 2020.
