Dewitt Avenue Rehabilitation – City of Mattoon
Overview:
The project included rehabilitation of approximately 1.1 miles of DeWitt Avenue from 14th Street to Logan Avenue. Work included pavement patching, milling, structural HMA overlay, and ADA sidewalk ramp reconstruction in accordance with IDOT requirements for federally funded roadway projects.
What TWG Delivered:
– Phase I & Phase II Engineering: Completed design and documentation for a federally funded roadway rehabilitation project in accordance with IDOT standards.
– Pavement Improvements: Designed pavement patching, milling, and structural HMA overlay to extend roadway life.
– ADA Upgrades: Reconstructed sidewalk ramps to meet current ADA accessibility requirements.
– Drainage & Roadway Design: Prepared storm sewer modifications, roadway typical sections, and intersection grading details.
– Traffic Control & Documentation: Developed maintenance of traffic plans, special provisions, engineer’s cost estimate, and construction documents.
– Agency Coordination: Coordinated extensively with IDOT District staff throughout Phase I and Phase II due to federal funding requirements.
Results:
TWG Engineering delivered engineering services for this federally funded roadway rehabilitation project, improving pavement condition and accessibility while meeting all IDOT and ADA requirements. The project was completed in 2022.
